After the Gaza War Medecins Sans Frontieres aka Doctors Without Borders was in need of recruits. As an organisation that assists those in conflict zones, neutrality is essential to success and survival. The reversible kippah/kufi was created to illustrate the similarity between two opposing sides, and that there are two sides to every story.
Myself and my then creative partner, Saadique Waggie distributed the cap to medical students at the University of Cape Town along with MSF applications. It’s the portfolio piece I’m most proud of. Not because it won a Loerie, but because it communicates a human truth with power and simplicity.
